Ukraine has decided not to proceed with a second peace conference aimed at resolving the conflict with Russia, a senior aide to President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed. The meeting had initially been planned for November.
Ukraine has dropped plans to hold a second peace conference aimed at ending hostilities with Russia, according to a senior aide to President Vladimir Zelensky. The conference had been slated for November.
In June, Zelensky hosted a ‘peace summit’ at the Swiss resort of Luzerne, seeking international backing for his proposed ‘peace formula,’ a ten-point plan that Moscow dismissed as unrealistic. Russia was notably excluded from the event, which many viewed as a failure.
“The Second Peace Summit will not happen in November,” presidential aide Darya Zarivna announced on Tuesday.
Zarivna noted that preparations for a future summit are ongoing, with “thematic conferences” being held to address each point of Zelensky’s peace plan. The final of these conferences, focused on humanitarian issues, is scheduled to take place in Canada at the end of October, she added.
